In this first feature, we asked KI fans via Twitter what their solution would be to resolve the ongoing issue with Killer Instinct Xbox One’s rage quitting dilemma. Here is what KI fans had to say…

@DemonKingDurst: They really need to be sorted, and I think some kind of penalty system should be implemented.

@uppercutcircuit: If you disconnect for any reason u get a game loss and the other person gets a win.

@SuperKir101: A special title for them.

@Bronduct: After repeat offenses in 24 hour period, take rank, points, or put a temp ban on them etc

@MikeADMurray: Simply do what other games have done. Disconnects are counted as a loss, and track how many times a player disconnects.

@mrvec: Set a flag on the game when the player enters a match that isn’t removed unless he completes a match

@Kevin_Mastacan: Loose a good amount of xp and if it keeps happening, then a title or a dunce hat saying R-R-R-RAGE QUITTER

@akrylix_: Have a system to combat rage quits that could be linked to the fighters health bar

@DLG1202: Next 10 games they will loose huge KP EVEN when they win.

@XboxOneCloud: Just give an automatic loss to anyone who drops game.

@GyzzyW: When someonee ragequits, he lose a lot of points, even if it is a connection problem, it force him to resolve it

@moonlitghtninja: Penalize them by taking away more rank then if you were to loose

@ferrarimanf355: Lose rank along with a loss marked as a rage quit.

@Slash5150: If a 24-hour 3 strike system could be in place that would make it pretty easy to stop.

@Frog_sox: Taking away more rank than would be lost if they’d just lost the match instead sounds good.

@Raurik: At one point, Capcom made it so people who ragequit on SFIV on iOS often were eventually only paired with other ragequitters.

@fchampryan: 3 RQ in a span of 25 games should get a temporary title ” RAGE QUITTER”

@NihlisticSavior: If multiple quits occur in succession they should be locked out from earning rank progress and temporily have a ragequiter title

@Salt_Fist: I like the rage quitter title idea. Also, instead of punishing them with rank, X amount of rages = less starting health nextgame

@Slash5150: Treat it like League. Hell if you RQ in one game you can’t play for like an hour

@jeffpovick: I’d make the RQer recieve a loss and then lose a lot of EXP, or something similar there should be a punishment worse than a loss

@suicidalWHAT: @KI_Central Lower their rank by one and the announcer says R-R-R-RAGE QUITTER!!!!

@DyingDeath7: @KI_Central 5 minute ban for frequent rage quitters.

@quotesdeezy: Ban quitters from playing for a day or something.

@PSNDoubleEdge: Give the quitter the loss. Zero tolerance, by now you should take responsibility for your connection.

@Bronduct: After they quit, you should be given the option to report them, get enough reports and lose a rank or points etc

@Robosnocone: They should have to play 5 games. Where if they win they get no xp and losing makes them lose xp.

@XXXtremeChubby: Kind of do what Bungie does to their players. Ban them online 4 a certain time & lose stats also.

@MikeSyphax: Implement a timeout after a set number of disconnects.

@DrGameFREAK: You rank down one whole rank, plus you get a emblem and a title showing that your a rage quitter and its harder to rank up.

@Zunoksu: Auto win for staying Player..down Rank for quit…

@DunkEleven: Give them a rage quitter rank

@ChronikStigma: Put a little identication by their name that warns you that they disconnect a lot. And also make them lose a lot more xp than what they would normally lose.

@DAZ3600: Auto win for opponent, 3 rage quits should equal a 24 hr ban from online play in KI .

@GoshdarnDavid: Put a hat on any of the characters they use saying “IM SALTY”

@TorturedElf: 5mim lockout period, player can not join another ranked match in this time. Gives them a period to cool off and take a break

@jchensor: Maintain a drop counter. Every day at midnight, it decrements by one. Display the count. This won’t punish accidental net drops.

@Kengou12: 3 strike penalty system each day that after the 3rd strike, each rage quit will mark up 2 losses & lower priority when playing ranked. If there’s consistent marks over a period of 4 days, implement them with a title that is permanent & if they now rage-quit, they’ll be given a week-long ranked suspension along with a reset in ranks

@davidspringate: Put them in a ‘quitters’ list. Quitters can only play each other for an amount of time. Time increases with more quits.

@ShingroAgain: Strike or rank system, make sure that it’s completely glitch-proof.

@taiinytunes: Rage Quit results in lost and after a number amount of rage quits, you get branded as a rage quitter as your title

@CrimsonShredder: I had actually thought about it! It would be rank 0, and it would only match u up with other RQ

@MorganGilmour: Any sort of penalty. Marking players would be awesome, but at the same time unforseen circumstances can force a quit. Lose rank

@MHansenArt: I just think more control over online play. So lobbies and spectator mode with indicators next to players gamertag for RQs

@griffnuts: Show disconnect % rates for all players. Have penalties when thresholds are hit (5%/10%) Hopefully to combat RQs vs real drops.

@eliverling: People who RQ get triple damage dealt to them in online matches

@OneTwoStrike: Penalized with a loss and points that they would get if they won. This could drop their rank as well.

@Dios_X_Reloaded: If there was a way to pair them up with people who ragequit as much as they do only, away from everyone else that would be nice.

@AcidHand1: Take away their points and you get a win plus points

@Huddie01: Of course lose rank and the other person that got raged quitted on gain rank

@thegent2020: “We have found an opponent, their disconnect rate is X%, do u wish to play?”

@XrayJay78: Show DC %before a match and allow players to leave if they don’t like how many DCs the prospective opponent has.

@QuestionMerk: Give them a certain amount of time before they can go back online

@Addictedtokaos: 5 min lockout and new title for all RQ after 3x “disconnects” you go there. Once you’ve had RQ title any disco sends you back!

@DaMixTapeCD: 3 times the deduction in points, and eventually make accounts with high quit rates just match make with eachother

@beerMEorFEARme: Whatever they do will need like a 3 strikes system because sometimes it’s clearly a disconnect.

  1. I’ve been playing KI for two years now and I noticed that some people rage-quit on you, but you are also penalized with points and after 3 or more rage-quitters, you are put in jail. That’s Bullshit . I never rage-quit even when I’m receiving a rough lesson from an assasin level player. KI should punish the quitters and not the ones that just want to play.

  3. Ive been getting disconnected from online matches today and a few people have quit on me and I still have not quit a single match but I was put into Jail when someone quit the match. Wasnt the oatch supposed to fix this ? Is there anyway to get out of KI jail?
