It was an uphill battle from the beginning. Killer Instinct, a game that’s barely been out for three weeks vs. a fighter that’s been our for nearly nine months and has already established itself as amongst the FGC (Fighting Game Community). So while it came as a disappointment for Killer Instinct to lose, it wasn’t at all surprising. This time next year, however, KI will hopefully be an even larger game with a bigger following and have a real shot at winning. Best Fighting Game of 2014? It very well may happen.

The correct course of action is to completely ignore this since it came from VGX, which gave PC game of the year to Gone Home, over “Papers, Please” and The Stanley Parable. The VGX have no authority whatsoever.
I now have a very good feeling that Killer Instinct will win the title for Best Fighting Game of 2014 next year
