In response to a fan question early this morning, Microsoft’s Phil Spencer confirmed that the company will continue to invest in the Killer Instinct franchise.
“Are you guys making sure that the KI is getting all means necessary to get a constant delivery of content?”

Do any of you complainers know how a video game is made? This bitching about nothing is getting old. Do I want to play this entire game right this second with no bugs? Yes, but as we all learned when we were 5 years old you have to be patient. To the people saying they should focus on season 1 before even thinking season 2, shut the hell up dummy! Season 1 is handled by double helix who will make sure it is working just fine before they’re done, it’s what they’re contracted to do. Season 2 should be in at least preproduction with the other developer right now and that is on them not double helix. People need to think about what they’re about to say before saying something that isn’t even true. Double helix will finish season 1 and if it’s delayed then fine. If your car breaks down and you’re late for work is it someone’s fault? No! Shit happens so deal with it! Bugs are unpredictable and they’re always in the game. You fix a bad bug and that causes another bug or bugs to happen, that’s how games work people!! Season 2 I hope is under way and that will hopefully be the announcement Thursday. My wishlist for season 2 besides obvious characters that will return is stage knockoffs, classic stages, ki2 arcade, another alternate costume, different ultras, new modes, and call me crazy bit I don’t care if finishers make it back I never really gave a shit about them. O yea and ken lobb seemed to not be too happy about the idea of bringing gargos or eyedol back, we fans need to demand that shit!! Every character no matter how popular needs to return, they can always be redesigned. Hell there arent that many characters in the series

I also agree friend, the bugs in the game not problem. Maybe I expressed myself negatively the game for being a fan of KI, and do not like to hear people making jokes about my favorite game. Among us fans the criticism is valid, the more who do not play can not criticize, I hope to see KI at the top as were the first

Everyone who’s angry needs to calm down. Games release with bugs all the time. How many times have you put a new game in your system and their was an update for it? That’s because the game add released was missing/had a problem. Arkham Origins anyone? That game was chalked full of bugs. SFXT had a few bugs and UMVC3 still had bugs that will never be patched. DH has done a good job listening to the community. Capcom never did anything about rage quiters and the net code in their fighters isn’t that great. Have you played injustice, or KOF online? It’s terrible. Wait until season one is over. Then pass judgment.

I am a player of 32 years old, i play KI since 1994 in the arcades, I bought my XBOXONE only for Killer Instinct and am very disappointed with the developer, not by bugs, but for what she is doing with the delay and lack of quality the characters, classic Sabrewulf and classic Thunder are a joke … ridiculous and shameful, i do not expect much more than arcade mode, do not even think there will be a BOSS as Eyedol or Gargos, I believe that the game ends in Fulgore. DH should follow the example of Mortal Kombat 2011 … I hope I’m wrong, and surprise me with the next update, because until the moment I feel that play simply a DEMO ….

Bottom line is that some of us bought the damn game back in November for full price. They promised release of full season one material. If it doesn’t happen im not gonna lose any sleep but will be dissapointed. So i think we’ve all been patient enough.
Karrie Jensen is right and the fact nobody acknowledged her comment till now is pathetic. As a 30 year veteran gamer I have seen more games and developers than most people. The new work ethic seems to be release now fix later. That’s NOT acceptable. We are not simply gamers we are consumers and like anything else people buy, most people expect the quality promised by the company selling the product.
The developer of KI shouldn’t be even considering a second season till they fix what they already sell and continue to sell. Games are fun but business is still business. Triple A developers don’t make the mistake of releasing a game that needs fixing to the point it angers or frustrates it’s fan base and beyond.
The flip side is that KI is made well at it’s core but the developer knew about the current issues before they released the game, don’t be fooled, they absolutely did. KI is great and I see potential for it’s future if the developer continues to support their franchise. FIX the issues with the game then look at a second season.

They ARE finishing ‘what was promised’, Phil Spencer (from Microsoft) was only answering a fan question on twitter.
Double Helix won’t be considering anything because once ‘what was promised’, which I assume means everything from season 1, comes out they won’t be working on it anymore and Microsoft will be assigning a new developer. I’m surprised you don’t know this considering you’re obviously interested in KI since you’re on a KI fan site…

Rockstar with GTA or EA with FIFA? All of these series’ are made by some of the biggest videogame companies in the world and have extremely large fan-bases and release every year with plenty of bugs. Killer Instinct is one of the buggiest titles this year but what you have said is wrong.
Stop crying about the rank reset it’s just a game, my data was erased too but instead of crying i’ve keeping plying like i always do and i almost get all the progress that i used to have. And on the other hand, what the KI comunity really needs is new content without bugs so it’s not bad waiting a few weeks until DH fix what they need to fix.
I wish someone would slit the throats of DOUBLE HELIX GAMES because they have ruined the lives of Die hard fans, including me of Killer Instinct by reseting all players ranks, level back to button masher, reseting their kp to 0, and erasing all data. Until killer instinct gives me everything I worked so hard to unlock back, I will keep talking trash about the worst game ever made; KILLER INSTINCT!

All we want the KI community is the content from the 2 original games, plus new characters and content. Just stay invested! Listen to what we ask of the game. The net code online is mostly great. A lot of us play online. Keep up the work on KI.

John: You are absolutely wrong about everything you stated in your comment. First off, the tweet from Phil spencer didn’t come till after my comment and also did NOT state a release date to fix the game which I believe was the entire point of my comment. Phil Spencer merely stated that there will be talk about the addition of fulgore etc. The last time I checked, talk is not action.
Next, I am interested in KI, that does not mean I have looked into every specific detail such as developer change, that is simple ignorance on your part to be surprised without realizing the possibility that I might have simply began to play and investigate only the reason for season 1 content delay. In addition, my point stands, DH is responsible for season 1 however Microsoft has ownership which means a second season under any developer should not be considered till season 1 is fixed.
Next, what I said about triple A developers is absolutely correct. You obviously know nothing of the video game industry as a whole.The developers and franchises you mentioned are known to release patches very fast after release of their games in most cases which does not anger the majority of their fan bases as the issues are normally identified and rectified fast.
Side note, Kerrie Jensen’s statement was not whiny at all, it was clear and directly to the point and her statement has complete validation. The fact you think she’s whiny is laughable, you consider virtual words on a screen to have emotions. I’m sorry, I can no longer accept anything you say serious or with any merit at all, nor should anyone else who has any intelligence.
