During Microsoft’s pre-E3 show yesterday morning, TJ Combo was revealed to be the latest character to return to Killer Instinct Xbox One. In a similar fashion to all returning characters from the previous KI games, he maintains some very similar characteristics while simultaneously featuring a new design as well. It’s his new design features that are the focus of this month’s new poll and we want to know what you think about it! Everybody needs to understand that they had to change his style, it is evident, they cannot do the TJ Combo exactly as he was in the 1st KI, this it will be the Classic Costume. Personally while I do like TJ Combo’s new redesign VERY MUCH and quite digging it too now, at the same time I don’t care about Combo’s redesign too much. So above all I’m just VERY glad to see that TJ Combo is now FINALLY back and has FINALLY return too where he can now join the rest of the KI roster and at the same time become a new addition to the ever growing KI roster for Killer Instinct Season 2 😉

Tj looked as normal as anything in KI1, but he was MUCH better looking in KI2 and in KI2 he got really intresting…. specially with all the scars and bionic shown from his fight with Riptor.
I like his design as much as i liked Jagos at last years E3. That had to grow on me too and now i love it!
if it was my choice id make him look a bit more fantastical a little bit more future a little bit more battle scared but then thats all for costume customisation.

it was dam stupid of Rare to put gloves on the orignal…. you cant kill a raptor or a wolf or a robot with PADDED boxing gloves on lol…. i would have hoped Irong galaxy would have put two and tow together and thought why would thunder use axes and yet combo used padded gloves?

Now don’t forget about his arms which do MUCH MORE damage than with just his hands alone 😉
It’s actually more realistic for TJ to have the small padded MMA gloves to protect his knuckles. If he’s going to beat a velociraptor, a werewulf, an alien and a metal robot he’s going to need protection to not break his fists in a single punch. The boxing gloves ARE ridiculous, but the MMA ones aren’t, they’re pratical. Checkout Batman’s gloves in The Dark Knight, they have protection (although they look hard as crap).
The thing is, why modernize just that aspect of his outfit? It looks like he’s halfbaked. I love seeing him back, his moveset looks amazing, but I’m still undecided on his outfit.
Now that u mentioned it, yes, I TOTALLY agree with u as well as understand on those particular details regarding Combo’s padded MMA gloves especially for protection and practicality for his hands

Tj Combo is the new Dudely
I found him good, not completly awesome, but nice. I think he looks like he should be. Keep his old style with a kind of refresh look but keeping certain things of the past and that’s how it should be done, they can’t reimagine the character, it’s alright. Don’t forget we’ll got some customisation to, and we’ll have the classic one later.
So it’s a good start for me.

As with all previous reimagined designs, I found it somewhat weird and awkward at first sight, but then quickly grew on me. It’s like a shocking first impact, then fast accomodation and sooner than later I embrace the new design as a job well done.
He seems to have aged considerably, keeping in line with the other characters’ stories, he maintains his original boxing moves plus new grappling ones, and this combined with his new gloves seems like a shoutout to those who wanted to see him as a MMA fighter. Now you have an MMA-boxer hybrid with super powers (because it’s KI, you couldn’t have a normal human being!).
Also, I’m digging his new goatee and I’m glad he got rid of that stupid eyepatch (maybe a bionic eye is in its place?) and those camo pants.
I’m just wondering if his design is fresh new, as made by Iron Galaxy from scratch, or still made by Double Helix when they were on board and finalized by IG…

Honestly people what were you expecting him to look like? Quick comparing this game to that shit stain that is street fighter 4. This game at it’s core plays completely different and the art style is closer to mk9 than sf4. And on that note it looks like killer instinct and nothing else. You people are from a shitty generation that cannot be pleased. He looks like freaking combo!! Combo has always been a little goofy but he looks badass now. Ki2 he looked like crap and ki1 was alright, he was always just a regular human among monsters and that why he’s cool. In short, quit bitching you dumbass children!!!
