UPDATE: This post has recently been updated. There was inconsistent information in how to reach Shadow Jago after unlocking all three endings. The info contained within should now be correct. I apologize for any convenience caused.

The elusive Shadow Jago is the boss for the first season of Killer Instinct Xbox One. Reaching him is actually a fairly easy task, but one that requires you to play through Arcade Mode with a single character four different times. The specific objectives that must be met in order for you to be deemed worthy enough to face Shadow Jago are posted below, so Read on to discover the challenges you most complete…

Unlock all three endings with any character (any difficulty).

Ending One- Do not perform an Ultra Combo on the sixth opponent (your rival) or seventh opponent (sub-boss Fulgore).

After unlocking all three endings with a character.

Begin Arcade Mode with any character on medium or higher difficulty that you’ve unlocked all three endings with. From there, you need to perform as many Ultra Combos and earn as many Supreme Victories as possible and you cannot lose a single match. Facing Shadow Jago is based upon how high your score is. So the better you play, the more likely you are to reach him. And don’t forget that you most perform an Ultra Combo on the sixth opponent (your rival).

If you did all of the above things correctly, you’ll skip over sub-boss Fulgore and progress to fight the real boss of season one instead, Shadow Jago! Let us know in the comments your Arcade Mode experience!

  1. I got to shadow jato took 60 try, but I beat him and I got an ultra combo, but is that it? What about this Ariel? I also wondered if you beat him after getting to him on the first try on medium difficulty would that give you his character especially with an ultra combo.

  2. Ok so i defeated shadow jago, i havent been able to find him in my character selection screen. I know i beat him cause i got the stage and video record..but how do i find shadow jago himself?

    1. Well here’s the thing when you beat shadow Jago you only get his stage you don’t unlock the character to this day the only way to get him is to buy a I think a special edition or day 1 edition 12 month xbox live gold card :/

  3. Im facing shadow jago now and he just pulled an ultimate on me can all players do that

  4. If you turn your xbox on off do you turn it on and start where you left off or do you have to do it again from the start event thoe you got all the ending already

  5. To get the best ending you DON’T need to Ultra your rival, just Fulgore. I confirmed that.

So here is how it’s done:

    Ending 1: Don’t Ultra 6th or 7th character
    Ending 2: Ultra 6th character
Ending 3: Ultra 7th character. You can Ultra 6th too, but is not required.

To get Shadow Jado I didn’t use continues and Ultra’ed the 6th character. That’s still not confirmed as the easier method as I did some Ultras (but not all) along the way and some Supreme victories (also not all).

  6. Ok I got to him and beat him whoooo!!!
My score was roughly around 121000
I had 5 ultras and 5 supreme victories
    Worth it

        1. No problem. Yes, I hear u on that. But above all glad to hear that u were finally able to beat/defeat Shadow Jago in the end

        1. Plus I STILL find Killer Instinct Central to be the #1 source and stop for everything Killer Instinct and I STILL enjoy going/coming to this KI site too

          1. I agree we are human we can get everything right i love this web site alot good people make this and are in involve in it theirs alot feedback i enjoy reading what people have to say and thier option

  7. This is still wrong. The way it goes is as follows:
Ending one – don’t ultra your rival.
Ending two – ultra your rival.
Ending three – ultra your rival and Fulgore.
Once you’ve done that you can go through and face Shadow Jago. I did it on medium difficulty, didn’t lose a match and ultra as many opponents as I could.

    1. That’s still wrong. This is the exact way.
Ending one – don’t ultra your rival.
Ending two – ultra your rival.
Ending three – ultra your rival and Fulgore.

Then go through arcade on medium or higher. You have to win all matches with no continues, and you have to ultra the character (rival) before Fulgore.

  8. I seriously hope that for Season Two Iron Galaxy will not have all these ridiculous requirements and tasks for things that should be default.

  9. I have got the 3 endings with Jago but I’m too sh@t on medium to make it past orchid never mind ultra my way through in one go. I have only had the game a couple of weeks and thought I had improved quite a bit…..I was wrong 🙁

    1. Don’t worry man, I’m doing it as Fulgore and I always make it to my rival (orchid) and get my ass kicked. I don’t understand how to beat her on that difficulty!

  10. I BEAT HIM AFTER 3 TRIES 😀 btw i lost 2 rounds in arcade mode. Didnt need get ALL supreme victories

    1. This is an different Nathan it’s not me lol but it’s good to know that it can be done what was your score was before it skip over to fulgore ? Nate?

  11. I just reached him. Didnt lose a match and didnt Ultra one person. It skipped fulgore after I ultra’d orchid. I can’t beat this damn guy though! Lol do I have to beat him to unlock his stage?

  12. This is dumb, nobody has the same version of what to do and what to didn’t do….somebody get informed please…

For now my own experience with my second chararter is :

-Ultra on the rival and not fulgore..i’ve chek the cinematics and it says ending 2
-Next run i’ve didn’t do any Ultra on both Rival and Fulgore, and that unlocked me the ending 1
-I doesn’t tryed the 3rd one yet but I assume that it should be Ultra on both rival and Fulgore for the ending 3

    1. im not worried about the endings, I wanted to know exactly what to do once i started medium but u right everybody got they own versions for the endings

      1. I did it with Jago and like you should already know, you gotta have the 3 endins firts.
After you have to make all the arcade at medium difficulty(or higher) with the same character and don’t lose a match(not round, but matches), I think you have to do an ultra to your rival but for that I’m not sure, but in the doubt. do it and you’ll have the chance on your side

    1. Did nothing above. Also when you use a continue your points are kept. I managed to have 200k points by the time I beat the 6th character and couldn’t fight Shadow Jago, so points are not it (at least no by themselves).

What eventually worked was to not use continues and Ultra the 6th character. I had only 110k points by then.

  13. Once you’ve unlocked all three endings you most play the game in medium, (With the character you’ve unlocked the endings for) not lose a match and make sure you ultra your rival (the 6th character). Then shadow Jago will appear.

    1. the part about medium is bull i did everything y’all said it didn’t work so i did what maximilian said to do and it work on the first try, you have to have a high score in order to face him meaning a lot of supreme victories and every match end in ultra don’t cut the ultra short the longer the combo the better

  14. Ending 1 : Do not Ultra on the 6th Battle. Perform an Ultra on Fulgure – 7th Battle
Ending 2 : Perform an Ultra on 6th Battle. Do not Ultra Fulgore – 7th Battle
Ending 3 : Perform an Ultra on 6th Battle and Fulgore – 7th battle

  15. You have to Ultra everyone once you do your medium play through and not lose. Seems like that should be part of the instructions.

    1. Once you’ve unlocked all three endings you most play the game in medium, (With the character you’ve unlocked the endings for) not lose a match and make sure you ultra your rival (the 6th character). Then shadow Jago will appear. You don’t have to ultra everyone.

  16. I have all 3 endings for Jago and I went through with medium and did an Ultra on the 6th opponent (Orchid) and I did not get to Shadow Jago. I did however lose twice, once to the 5th and once to the 6th. Please verify these instructions before putting them up as news.
