Guest characters in fighting games is nothing new. It’s an interesting approach to adding a character from a completely different franchise that will often attract players that otherwise may not have been interested in a particular title. I can speak of that from experience by using Soul Calibur II as a prime example. The only reason I purchased that game when it released on the Nintendo Gamecube a decade ago was because of Link’s presence in the game. I’m sure many others have done the same throughout years. Perhaps Freddy Kreuger in Mortal Kombat 9 was just enough to entice people to acquire that product. Or how about Snake in Super Smash Bros. Brawl? So it’s not unprecedented these days to expect a guest character in a fighting game and as Microsoft has previously stated, Killer Instinct will likely introduce a guest character of its own in the future.

Dark for sure is Perfect choice… With all her guns). And maybe some Lost Viking… or at least Tusk could have such alt.costume. I like Gears of War idea. But no HALO – Spartan already was in DOA. But Arbiter can be Its good to have Indiana Jones type of character – the archeologist from Sabrewolf game can be him.

JOANNA DARK: because she’s badass and could definitely serve as a suitable rival for Orchid. Perfect Dark’s plot also provides convenient leniency towards dealing with superpowers and corrupt crime syndicates. Plus, it is a logical choice as she is without question one the most memorable of characters of Rare’s legacy. Like you said: Link, Krueger, and Snake were, to some, the only reason to buy that particular game. This is due to the fact that they had not been included in a fighting game before (Smash is a fighting game I know). MK is great, don’t get me wrong, but this poll is for a guest feature, not a crossover. That’s why I strongly believe that Joanna would make the best addition to KI’s roster.

How about stop making and bringing new characters and bring all the original roster I spen t $80 and still haven’t seen Kim WU which is my a all time favorite character and at this pace I don’t see that happening but instead you make Omen, Kan Ra, Sadira, shadow Jago, Golem etc or whatever its name is and I was waiting for killer instinct to make a comeback all this years and is the only reason I bought an Xbox one it should it be season one with all the original roster and than do whatever with season 2

There is a few ideas that come to mind that i think would be a nice fit (in my opinion). RAAM from Gears 1, Skorge from Gears 2, Noob from MK, The Didact from Halo 4, even Deadpool would be a nice addition that would add some personality and flare to the game (:

I would like to see Raiden from Mortal Kombat X. All the lightning powers, teleports and the fly would be awesome.
Also, there are already evil gods/demigods in Killer Instinct, like Eyedol and Gargos. Would be nice to see a good god fighting for mankind.

Id say either one of the battletoads characters to help people get ready for a possible sequel, joahnna dark to maybe get ready to give her a proper perfect dark sequel because perfect dark zero was crap, or maybe even a villain from halo or gears of war.
One of the battletoads would be great, both BToads and KI are products and creations of Rare, rumour has it that IG is interested in Battletoads…..On the other hand I think Johnny Cage woud be a descent fit
For me only the characters created for use in the game. Killer is Killer, and other characters guests would take a bit of grace, but also open the door to be invited from other games. In the case of MK X is possible that a guest character at Killer Instinct be appears, and it is my big favorite in the game, but it let him at a distinct disadvantage is horrible, since the Killer no new submissions for the implementation of the characters , only the Ultra. Each character to be created is made for the unique game mode , with its rules and limitations, so I am against migration from one character to other theme or different styles. My opinion. Hugs!
Yes I think the other commenters are missing the point of a Guest Character. Just like Link, Snake, Vader, Freddy… all are iconic figures who WERE never a fighter. But instead of getting a productive list of choices like these mentioned and applied Guest fighters, all our commenters are just mentioning Cross Over fighter = NOT Guest Fighters. As for Battletoads, to me it doesnt matter that they were created by Rare, it does not fit. Nothing to the same level as Link, Vader, Freddy and etc. You Know what I say is True. Battletoads = does not equal Vader and etc. So please comment with the same logic as Elizabeth and mention actual Guest Characters who will bring in new KI buyers. Battletoads will NOT because they are not iconic. Chewbacca makes more sense easily or anyone of the A-list icon.
Totally agree! especially the Battle Toad thing… ugh please no Battle toads.. that would not fit in the KI universe. KI is serious, dark , and realistic to a point. Zits and pimples and rashes dont exist in KI LOL
My vote is for classic horror characters…Michael Myers, Jason Freddy (i know in MK9), Texas Chainsaw, Pin Head , Hatchet, DAMIEN, Reagan from the Exoricst…. man that would be an awesome game with the Killer instinct game engine but these characters.
